Readers have been contacting me with regards to the Rolex Batman (or should I say, Bat-men since there were 2 pieces) pursuant to my advert @ https://andywristwatches.blogspot.my/2018/02/wts-bnib-rolex-gmt-master-ii-116710blnr.html.
I must say that this had been amongst the fastest that I have flipped watches. Barely few hours after the advert was out, both the watches were spoken for and quickly collected by fellow watch collectors. In fact, a grey reseller whom contacted me, offered me a premium higher than my asking price, when he found out that both were AD pieces with unnamed/undated warranty cards. Yes, it's rare to get 'em Rollies in such pristine condition these days. However, I decided to keep to my word and let the collectors have the watches despite the lower prices.
I arranged for both collectors to come one after another, so the deals took only about an hour to conclude. Being collectors, they were very careful to check on the condition and paperwork of the watches; and one of them even brought a loupe forward.
I have met many collectors through my watch flips and these 2 gentlemen would go into a long list of WIS friends. Checked out the pictures of the wristshots- the only thing that you would missed out was the grins on their faces for netting such great pieces at good prices. As the grey reseller informed me, watches in the condition that I had, could go for as high as RM48k per piece in his brick and mortar shop, to the right buyer. I however, prefer for the watches to go towards actual owners whom would give them real wrist times.
And an essential part of it all, was always to buy the seller and not just the watch. I guessed that the cheap BLNR as posted @ https://andywristwatches.blogspot.my/2018/02/community-service-62018-rolex-gmt.html could be testament to that.
Happy Chinese New Year and happy holidays for the rest of the week, dear readers...
Tnx for the bargain. Sized the watch at Rolex Malaysia and it fits comfortably. Good to deal with you as usual.
