Genesis : Let There Be Light

I have been blessed to have sampled quite a few pieces of watches going through my collection, and one piece that have always struck me as being of very value-for-money was the Ball Genesis 125th Anniversary Limited Edition.

It comes in a lovely ocean blue across the sunburst dial; and when darkness comes no matter day or night, the 1mm-thick tritium tubes would shine so bright that light would be present.

Ball first used these thick tritium tubes in this watch to commensurate its 125th anniversary, and the rear was engraved with its bread-and-butter history in the locomotive industry. Ball made precise timing for the American railway possible for the first time, and it has evolved far and wide since then.

What modern watches could you buy for RM7.5k these days? Perhaps an Oris diver watch, or a Seiko MM300; but to have the heritage of the American locomotive celebrated in a nicely-packaged timepiece equipped with a Swiss ETA movement at this base price, I would think that it's truly value for monies.

And as its name exclaimed, "Let there be light."
