Mod Bug : Seiko Sumo SBDC033J1

Otherwise known as the Blumo, this was the more modern reiteration i.e. SBDX033 compared to its older sibling in the SBDX003. Both pieces were blue in colour, but the SBDX marked the Prospex era so its dial had the "X" and it was produced with very generous layers of LumiBrite compared to its predecessor.

So the Blumo was the latest to join my humble collection, with the intention to mod this piece to make it an even more outstanding piece. This was how it looked like fresh out of the box. While the advert mentioned that this imported piece would not have local warranty, I wasn't too concerned as this was a piece that I planned to mod on. In fact, I checked on the non-box option to keep shipping cost on the lower side.

Prior to getting the watch, I had already ordered for the MM300 dial and hands (USD200), Crystaltimes Clear AR double-dome sapphire crystal (USD55), and Crafter Blue rubber strap (USD65). I would see how the mod bug goes, after the parts arrive in due course.

The LumiBrite on this Blumo was definitely a force to be beckons with, and what fun it was to charge  up the lume to keep the room litted.

Do keep a look-out on the up-coming Project Sumo-MM300 in the near future!
