One-Watch Policy?

I would apologise for the lack of blog entries over the last 4 months as I had been busy travelling all over. During the course of the travel, I have only added (and just as quickly flipped) a Rolex Submariner 116613LB that was purchased in London W1. It was one heck of a purchase, as I managed to get the piece at circa RM45k after the AD discount and VAT refund. And I managed to get the piece with all stickers intact and warranty card dated but unnamed (some ADs were no longer accommodating such request to curb grey market flips). The watch was subsequently flipped to a fellow reader here with the RM3k made part-subsidising some of my expenses spent during that particular trip.

Truth be told, I had been spending lesser time with the watches over the last few months. I have only been wearing the Hulk daily and sometimes, the Rangeman over the weekends. The fact that the state of the local economy was worrisome, had distracted me from my hobby of pursuing and appreciating these fine timepieces. But I know that sooner or later, the passion would rekindle itself.

I have also been thinking of doing another round of watch consolidation- starting with the larger pieces and perhaps going towards a one-watch policy. That one-watch could be from the following options :

The above are all fine timepieces that could be worn to the high-powered meetings, and dressed-down for the casual weekends. Well, some more than others perhaps. But the waiting period for the Nautilus, Daytona, and Sky-Dweller would be enough to wear down all but the most patient of men, unless one was prepared to pay for the sky-rocket premium for cutting the queue.

How many of you, dear readers, have been through the one-watch policy; and actually managed to stick to the regime? That should be an interesting point to ponder.

  1. Went from 100+ watches to 3 watches over 10+ years. 116503, 116600, GW9400. Now it's easier to pick and choose.
