FOC : Submariner 16610/14060 Manual Set

A reader wrote to me to ask if it was worthwhile to spend RM630 to purchase a year 1999 Rolex manual to complete his Submariner 16610/14060 set. I so happened to have the exact same manual, warranty card holder, and warranty booklet for another set that I have flipped as per the following :

One set only; and if you want it, it's yours FOC. Time is running...

A Wrinkle In Time

2 GMT maidens, separated by 18 years apart. I intentionally placed them side by side so that the differences in the cases, lugs, crowns, etc could be easily-seen by the naked eye. Have fun deciphering both these pieces.

Did you successfully spot the differences between both pieces, dear readers?

Rolex @ Baselworld 2018

So, are we getting a new Datejust, or perhaps a GMT-Master ii stainless steel in Coke format with Jubilee bracelet? Only time could tell...

There have been plenty of speculations, or rather wish lists, with regards to the new models that would be launched during BW2018. These included the following :

Personally, I would opined that the Coke/Pepsi GMT-Master ii with jubilee bracelet could be a possibility, while the Sub red-liner might be merely a wish list. However, I do think that they would update Caliber 3235 into the new generation of Subs. And might I just wished that the DSSD would be made more wearable with a slimmer case or lugs.

Either way, after BW2018, be prepared to dig deeper into your pockets for higher cost of ownership, fellow collectors!

Batman & Robin

Truth be told, I was a bit reluctant to see the 16710 exiting my collection today; but it was reassuring that she was going to another collector whom would be cherishing her and giving her the necessary wrist times. And this collector was a real gentleman, and I know that I have made yet another good friend in this circle. Hope you enjoy your 16710, mate!

All of us tend to have our own collections- some only buy and buy, while I am more of the type that would buy, keep, write, and flip. Therefore, over time, my collection has evolved many times over. And it's an adventure by itself keeping track of time while flipping time; so here's to us WIS wearing our treasured timepieces in good health!
