My Dad used to be a watchsmith- and I grew up watching him taking watches apart for servicing and repair works, before re-assembling all the tiny parts into fully-working items of marvel again. It's no surprise then that I was intrique into the world of watches since a young age. P/S : This is a watch site from an enthusiast to fellow enthusiasts, so you won't be bothered by adverts here. Just pure watch-reading fun, if you're into this. Enjoy the ride...

Freshly-Landed from Europe : SevenFriday P3-01 Part 2
Okay, I wrote a piece on SevenFriday P3-01 Part I last night upon receiving it; and having some free time this morning, I could tinkle around with it.
Realistically, the watch was well-made and I liked the details surrounding the watch. The complicated dial with tour billion-like looks, industrial lines along the case, wheel-design on the crown- generally the watch has an edgy industrial-like feel to it; altogether a perfect watch for fashionistas or people whom do not want to conform to the establishments.
The original leather strap was very soft and has hand-made quality. You could gauge that the brand has invested into quality materials, and this showed in its final product.
I didn't want to use its original leather as yet, and so carefully placed on a leather Nato (same piece that I used on my Rolex sometimes- so it's actually too thin at 20mm as the original strap is a mammoth 28mm tapering to 24mm). A 24mm Nato would look more balanced, IMHO. The Nato doesn't move to and fro once strapped in, which was a good thing.
So what do you guys think?
Honestly, it may be a tad too large for my wrist. The coincidence that I obtained a piece with a 0001 serial no. was quite cool though.
I do applaud the Company for coming up with something so unique in the market- a game-changer for the horology design of sorts. Quality is good for its price. If I have one quip, it would that the Company could give us enthusiasts an option of having the P-series with a mechanical ETA movement in that beautiful watch.
Of course, most of its buyers would probably just go for its looks; but it would be nice if there was an ETA option.
For me, it's a catch and release then.

ReplyDeleteI saw your advert at MWF. Can I offer you 3100 for a quick deal?
ReplyDeleteReady cash buyer.
DeleteSerial number is 0001. Very rare indeed. Deal at 3.5k possible? But need to courier to Johore.

ReplyDeleteJust to clarify, the serial no is really 0001. You can't fake that- it's carved at the watch rear case. And I'll consider them offers. But I have someone whom may be interested in trading another watch with the SevenFriday, so my preference is for a trade first. I'll update how things work out. Cheers.
