Well, the male Rolex Datejust lost its spot to the GMT in the winder last night; and the female Rolex Datejust had to put off the GMT's advances all night long ;p
But this morning, I open the winder boxes and it was no surprised that I chose the GMT to accompany me for the rest of the day. I have her telling the Malaysian and UK time, and I simply loved looking at her sitting pretty on my wrist :)
Simply captivating, if you asked me.
My Dad used to be a watchsmith- and I grew up watching him taking watches apart for servicing and repair works, before re-assembling all the tiny parts into fully-working items of marvel again. It's no surprise then that I was intrique into the world of watches since a young age. P/S : This is a watch site from an enthusiast to fellow enthusiasts, so you won't be bothered by adverts here. Just pure watch-reading fun, if you're into this. Enjoy the ride...

Sure bor you prefer your Steinhart over your Rolex? I also have 2 pieces of Steinhart but my Rolex watches are the best!
ReplyDeleteI don't deny that Rolex watches are great watches- I love Rolex too. But Gunter Steinhart has good designs (well, inspired by Rolex but at more modern bigger case size) and he prices the watches at an affordable pricing such that the masses are able to enjoy the watches. ETA movements, solid end-links, ceramic bezel- how could one complains? I'm no watch snob, and I'll support Steinhart still. Chill, mate.
DeleteYou're really a BIG fan of Gunter Steinhart! You make ME want to make orders from their website NOW!
ReplyDeleteI think that Steinhart timepieces are understated and under-represented here in Malaysia. I'm not getting any fees from them, by the way; but just would like to do my bit to help spread their name around so that more people would be exposed to this brand.

ReplyDeleteI just received my GMT Ocean Black Ceramic and I am very pleased with the quality and attention to detail. I'm not going to get into the Steinhart vs. Rolex debate other than to say that I have owned two Rolex GMT Masters, a stainless Pepsi bezel with a Jubilee bracelet, and a gold and stainless with a g&s Jubilee bracelet. Very nice watches to impress clients but really not worth the money. I sold them years ago and bought an Omega Seamaster at Changi in 2000 for $1,800 and had it overhauled by Omega a couple of years ago. It runs about a second fast per day and is IMHO, a much better watch than the Rolexes. We'll see how the Steinhart runs after a week or two on my wrist.
