It's The Return Of The New Omega Speedy Ultraman

Another reader would be flying in from a neighbouring country next week to pick a new piece of Omega Speedy Ultraman. Since I was already in KL, I called my contact if I could swing by the boutique to pick up the new piece. Thank goodness he was working on this Christmas day, so I soon have another big box to carry home.

And if you have seen the Speedy Ultraman box, then you would know what I meant.

You might be surprised at the no. of straps included in the package. Actually, Omega only included the 2 straps on the right i.e. black Nato strap with orange line, and black leather strap with orange threads. However, since changing the straps would inevitably change the outlook of the Speedy Ultraman and that was really part of the fun, my contact had sourced for additional straps in the form of a leather rally strap, all-black Nato strap (Moonwatch), and blue-white Nato strap (CK2998).

These straps would really enhance the ownership of the Speedy Ultraman.

Be sure to check that you receive the Ultraman booklet in your package. I've heard of how some collectors did not receive this booklet, which was a shame. You would want to have the full package as part of the deal.

Also ensure that you received the Omega watch tool that had the spring bar removal on one end, and a UV light torch on the end. The torch would reveal the Easter eggs that Omega included in this limited edition series, the only one of its kind thus far.

Without the light, it looked just like a normal dial would do.

My contact informed that the circulation of new Speedy Ultraman would be about digested shortly, so there might be no more new pieces forthcoming in 2019. That would likely push the secondary price of the model even higher next year, so collectors whom had managed to grab a piece for their collection should have another reason to rejoice. If you kept your piece in BNIB or NOS condition, then the premium would likely be even higher.

Okay, time to stop writing for now and go carve the turkey. Merry Christmas, dear readers...
